Tax Season is Here Again!

It seems like we just put the finishing touches on last year’s filing season, yet it is time once again to start thinking about tax returns!  Current clients should soon be receiving (if you haven’t already) your annual tax Organizer and designated appointment times.  As always, please give us a call if you need to reschedule.  New or prospective clients, please give us a call anytime to discuss how we can help you with your business and/or personal tax returns this year.

We know filing tax returns is not your favorite activity of the Spring, but it is a great opportunity for us to review your tax and financial world and to reconnect with many of you.  Although it’s incredibly hectic, it’s our favorite time of year as we enjoy the chance to meet with each of our clients and help you file returns and solve any tax, financial, or business issue that may be on your mind.

As a reminder, filing deadlines this year are March 15, 2012 for corporate entities, April 17, 2012 for partnership, fiduciary, and individual returns, and May 15, 2012 for tax-exempt organizations.

Recent Tax Developments

Congress has enacted several new pieces of legislation during the last year, many of which will have an impact on your current and future tax liabilities.  These include:

• The Affordable Care Act
• The American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009 (ARRA)
• Hiring Incentives to Restore Employment (HIRE)
• The Small Business Jobs Act of 2010
